An earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale rocked Taiwan on Saturday (02/06/2016).

The quake caused many buildings to collapse and trapping hundreds of people in it.
Rescuers are now saving 100 people trapped in a building in the southern Taiwan city of Tainan.
Dramatic video on local television and social media shows the seconds of a building collapsed during the quake.
Farmosa TV reported there are 150 people were trapped in a 16-storey building and they called out for help.
Meanwhile, local officials said 69 people had been rescued, but did not mention how many people are still trapped in collapsed buildings.
So far, at least 30 people were removed safely from the ruins of the seven-storey building.
"Four buildings collapsed in the city of Tainan. Search and rescue is ongoing and there is currently no reports of casualties," said Lin Kuan-cheng, the National Fire Service spokesman told AFP.
The US Geological Survey reported the quake struck Taiwan at a depth of 10 kilometers and the epicenter was 39 kilometers east of the city curved Kaohsiung, Taiwan's second largest city and the airport are important.

Initially, SR 6.7 magnitude earthquake was reported, but then decreased to 6.4 SR.
Pacific Tsunami Warning Center reported the quake was not a potential to cause a tsunami.
Taiwan is located at the confluence of two tectonic plates and is often shaken by earthquakes.
6.3 magnitude earthquake had rocked Taiwan in June 2013, killing four people and causing landslides in several places.
In 1999, an earthquake hit Taiwan, killing 2,400 people.
