Discuss Status Zika Virus, The WHO Emergency Meeting Title

The World Health Organization was holding an emergency meeting in Geneva, Switzerland, to discuss the 'explosion' Zika virus spread. The meeting will determine whether there will be a global emergency status.

In an emergency meeting held in Geneva, Switzerland, experts from controlling the disease, virology and vaccine development will provide input to the Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Dr. Margaret Chan. The woman will then determine whether the global emergency status for Zika virus need to be removed.

By announcing the Zika virus status as a 'public health emergency of international concern', money, resources, and expertise santifik will be launched in South America and a number of laboratories around the world to cope with the virus.

WHO also issued a recommendation traveling to countries affected, to track the spread of Zika virus, the best way to care for patients who are exposed, and vaccine development efforts.


Earlier, Dr Margaret Chan illustrates If the virus has moved from 'simple threat of a threat to the alarming proportions'.
"We need to get immediate answers. For various reasons, I decided to hold an emergency committee, "said Chan.
Since the Zika virus was detected in Brazil in May 2015, the virus has spread to more than 20 countries. WHO estimates that as many as four million people most likely to be infected with the virus this year Zika.
Most cases have no symptoms, but the virus was associated with various deviations of form and function of the brain thousands of babies.
